Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited and Tivolt Electric Vehicles have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop a strong charging infrastructure for commercial electric vehicles across India. This partnership combines Tata Power’s expertise in renewable energy and charging solutions with Tivolt’s expanding network of small electric commercial vehicles. The aim is to create a reliable and accessible charging ecosystem that supports the growing demand for commercial electric vehicles. As part of the collaboration, Tata Power Renewable Energy will set up charging infrastructure at key locations including Tivolt customer sites, dealerships and high-traffic public areas. This ensures that commercial electrical vehicle owners have easy access to charging facilities whenever needed.
Additionally, the partnership will focus on integrating solar energy systems at dealerships and customer locations. This approach not only reduces carbon emissions but also minimizes charging costs, making it more affordable for commercial vehicle owners to adopt electric technology. Deepesh Nanda, CEO of Tata Power Renewable Energy, highlighted the importance of this partnership in strengthening the charging network for small and commercial electric vehicles. These vehicles are crucial for supporting India’s last-mile delivery operations and transportation system. He also highlighted that a well-developed EV ecosystem would accelerate the adoption of commercial electric vehicles, contributing to a sustainable energy future for the country.
Saju Nair, CEO of Tivolt Electric Vehicles, also expressed his confidence about the collaboration. He stated that the partnership would serve as a key step in the journey toward widespread electric vehicle adoption. Nair believes that the collaboration would accelerate the development of EV charging infrastructure, ensuring better support for commercial electric vehicle owners across India. Together, Tata Power Renewable Energy and Tivolt Electric Vehicles are committed to create an accessible and cost-effective charging experience, driving the shift to sustainable transportation and supporting India’s goals of green mobility.
