SiTime Corporation, a company focused on precision timing tech, has just introduced the Symphonic SiT30100, a compact clock generator designed for mobile and IoT devices like smartphones, tablets, laptops, and asset trackers.
What makes this chip different is it combines the functionality of 4 of such timing devices into one small package, just 2.22 mm². It also has an integrated MEMS resonator, which simplify the design and reduce the space on the board. It also includes a built-in temperature sensor that works with onboard software to keep performance steady, even when the environment changes. That is especially useful for things like GPS, where stability helps improve location accuracy and reduce lock time.
The SiT30100 offers up to four clock outputs that support common frequencies used in wireless and navigation systems. It works well with baseband, RF, and GPS-related tasks, and it has output control pins to help manage power better. It’s also designed to handle different temperatures, from -30°C to 90°C, so it’s a good fit for mobile devices that are used in all kinds of environments.
