Hyundai aims to establish 600 EV fast charging stations across India by 2030, with 50 stations operational by December 2024. In Tamil Nadu, 100 stations will be set up by 2027, including 10 stations operational by 2024.

Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) has announced a big plan to set up 600 EV fast charging stations across India by 2030. This move is aimed at making electric vehicles (EVs) more popular by solving the problem of limited charging stations, which is a major concern for EV users. The company has promised to make 50 charging stations operational by December 2024, focusing on important highways and big cities to make EV journeys smooth and convenient.

To further boost EV charging infrastructure, Hyundai has made a partnership with the Tamil Nadu government to set up 100 EV charging stations in the state by 2027. Out of these, 10 stations will be operational by 2024. These charging stations will support all four-wheeler EVs made in India, making them useful for all EV owners. Hyundai has also connected these stations to its myHyundai app, which provides access to over 10000 charging points across the country. The app helps users easily locate chargers, check their availability and view pricing details.

Hyundai's current charging network has already served more than 50000 charging sessions, delivering 7.3 lakh units of energy to over 10000 vehicles, including non-Hyundai EVs. These stations are placed on key highways like Delhi-Chandigarh, Delhi-Jaipur and Mumbai-Pune, making long-distance EV travel easier. They are also set up in major cities like Bengaluru, Chennai, Gurugram and Hyderabad with facilities like restaurants and shopping areas to make the experience better for users. Safety measures including 24x7 CCTV and on-site charging assistant to ensure a secure environment.

With plans to launch its first mass-market EV, the Creta EV, Hyundai is showing its strong commitment to clean mobility. These efforts are in line with India’s ‘PM E-Drive’ scheme, which aims to expand EV infrastructure. Hyundai’s focus on global expertise and local needs is expected to play a big role in building India’s EV ecosystem.
