
Chhattisgarh’s government and the India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA) have officially announced their collaboration by signing a memorandum of understanding. The agreement signed by Rajat Kumar, secretary of Chhattisgarh’s commerce and industries department and Ashok Chandak, IESA president aims to strengthen the electronics system design and manufacturing sector. The initiative focuses on positioning Chhattisgarh as a significant contributor in India’s semiconductor and electronics manufacturing landscape. The MoU reflects a commitment to develop a business-friendly environment within the state. The agreement marks a pivotal development in regional industry.
Under the partnership, IESA will support efforts to drive investments and innovation in Chhattisgarh. The association will work with the state government to establish incubation centres and talent development programs in key locations including Naya Raipur. Plans include the development of Common Facility Centres and Electronics Manufacturing Clusters which are expected to facilitate technology transfer and provide necessary infrastructure. IESA will also assist in securing grants and formulating sustainable business frameworks that align with industry requirements.
The collaboration further witnessed a semiconductor industry discussion with Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and senior government officials, underlining the state’s commitment to expanding its electronics manufacturing capabilities. The MoU also outlines initiatives to host national and international ESDM events, promoting industry-academia engagement and regional development. This strategic move is anticipated to unlock new opportunities, contributing to a strong semiconductor ecosystem and supporting India’s broader goal of technological self-reliance and further establishing Chhattisgarh as a key state in India's ESDM sector.
