Correct Ac adapter plug

Submitted by Everett on

Hello,

I am not sure this is where I should be posting this particular question.  My hobby involves rebuilding older microscopes which often include locating electrical adapters which may or may not be proprietary,  I am trying to locate an AC adapter for a microscope which shows the power requirements as being 1.5V 1000ma where the plug looks abnormal.  I will attach a link to a photo. https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img922/4738/FMNCPI.jpg

Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi I am not sure how old the microphone is but the connecter looks really old. I would advice you to open the enclosure and trace the positive and negative wires cut them and use it with a more standard type of connector.

As far as the adapter is considered you can buy a variable voltage adapter that supports 1.5V. The current rating of the adapter should be 100mA minimum it can be anything more than that

AC adapters are used with electrical devices that require power but do not contain internal components to derive the required voltage and power from mains power. The internal circuitry of an external power supply is very similar to the design that would be used for a built-in or internal supply.

External power supplies are used both with equipment with no other source of power and with battery-powered equipment, where the supply, when plugged in, can sometimes charge the battery in addition to powering the equipment.
