Breadboard Circuit Simulation Software

Submitted by Haven Ronn on

Hi, i want to know if there are any software available for breadboard simulation, because sometimes its hard to decide if there is a short circuit on the circuit made on breadboard.

Yes, there are many online tools and softwares which offers breadboard simulation. You can download Virtual Breadboard software from this link http://www.virtualbreadboard.com/DocView.html?doc=Downloads/Downloads. It is free and easy to use.

You can use online tool also like circuits.io . You have to just login in to this service and its ready to prototyping your circuits and simulate them on breadboard.

I am not sure what exactly you mean by breadboard simulation software, but if you are looking for some software where you can try building some small circuits and simulate them, TinkerCAD is one. Although the components are limited but this tool is online so you don't need to download it plus its very easy to use.

Actually there is no particular software that comes to my mind that is totally dedicated to simulate circuits on bread board. But if you are absolute beginner and just wanted to simulate very basic circuits then circuits.io might be a good try.

Also if you trying to get anywhere series with electronics, use some decent software like ISIS Proteus (for embedded related ) LTspice or Pspice (for Power related). A decent software like these will only simulate circuits as such.

A breadboard itself is used for testing your circuits and designs, so you can experiment your circuit directly on a Breadboard itself of simulating it.

Thank guys, I have started using circuits.io and that was exactly what I needed. For now it will stick on to it for my projects and then would surely try using the more professional ones after I get a bit more comfortable with electronics.

Hi people,

I am a Sophomore and would like to know the best circuit simulation software that is available for free or open-source for students. I will be working on few basic designs involving the Motorola 68HC11 microcontroller and few analog IC's and Power switches who's part number I have not concluded yet.

Hi Tick-Tock,

Welcome to circuitdigest forums.

Since your question is a bit off topic from the OP's question I am moving your question as a new topic. You can find it here

I am aware that the thread is closed, but I want to share this software because it is really good and better than all the ones suggested above.

It is called "Virtual Breadboard Platform". You can visit http://www.virtualbreadboard.com/ to know more about it.

You can design circuits on breadboard simulate it and even make your own PCB from there. It can also simulate/emulate microcontrollers
